OUR HISTORY

Our company was started in 1989 by Mike Daddona, in Waterbury. His purposes for starting the company were: (1) to satisfy his desire to become experienced in as many phases of construction as possible, and (2) to build a business that would provide him with a living, so he could later became involved in Christian ministry on a volunteer basis.

1989-1993:
For the first five years of the business Mike lived in Waterbury, while he: (1) worked full time second shift in several different factories, and (2) worked for himself in Daddona Construction during the day. Most of the work done at that time was local, and in the areas of excavation, concrete work, and landscaping. The company typically employed 2-3 people.

1994-2000:
After the first five years of working first shift in construction and second shift in the factory, Mike quit his second shift job, moved to Bethlehem, and focused his efforts on Daddona Construction full time. In the next six years the company grew in diversity, volume, and geographic work area. Framing, roofing, and  siding were added to the list of services provided, and eventually became the company’s main staples. A blend of residential and  commercial, remodeling and  new construction projects, was established. The company typically employed 6-8 people, and was working from Southport to Sharon.

2001-2002:
After twelve years in business, Mike became partners with one of his, at the time employees, Mike Rachiele. For the next two years Mike & Mike concentrated mostly on local residential remodeling projects. MD also began applying a philosophy of balance to his personal life, and the business.

2003-2006:
After being partners for two years Mike & Mike made a major change, they officially transitioned from owner operators, to full time general contractors, utilizing subcontractors exclusively. For MD the change brought to an end 14 years of full time work in the field. By that point MD’s philosophy of balance, and prioritization of residential remodeling, solidified into a life long ambition. In 2004 Daddona Construction added an office in Rick Merrell's Russell Place in Waterbury to it's garage in Bethlehem and design services. Switching to general contracting had greatly helped the company to systemize it's construction process.

2007-2009:
After being partners for seven years, Mike & Mike took on a third partner, Roman Pawelczyk. He is the former owner of C & R Restoration of Oxford. Before becoming a partner, Roman was Daddona Construction, and  it's customer’s favorite subcontractor. Roman adds to the company his

already tried and  true commitment to doing things the right way. He is the epitome of “firm but fair”. Partnering up with Roman has proven to be Daddona Construction's best decision yet. In 2009 it unfortunately became necessary for Mike Rachiele to leave the company due to personal problems.

2010-
Moving forward, Mike & Roman are more committed than ever to carrying on a blend of residential and commercial projects in the areas of remodeling and new construction.  They have also made another major change by reverting back to an, as much as possible, in-house company structure. They plan on continuing to develop their system of doing business, and to continue growing their long list of satisfied customers. The next thing on their agenda concerning the company’s expansion is to move their office to a place that would allow them to add a showroom.
